General Office Duties: Marriage licenses, Intent to Cut Permits, administer dog licenses, work permits, administer County, State and Federal elections, maintenance of County Board records, property and liability insurance contact, compile and publish Lafayette County Directory and County Board Proceedings book, administer county payments to libraries, contact for county questions and other duties as required by statute.

Lafayette County is one of the leading agricultural counties in the State. Agriculture is the leading enterprise of the County. The First Territorial Capitol is located 3 miles northwest of Belmont in Lafayette County. The Cheese Country Trail runs parallel to the Pecatonica River and is the former rail bed of the Milwaukee Road railroad. It extends 47 miles from Monroe to Mineral Point. Many snowmobile trails are also available in Lafayette County.
