Education:

Graduated 1973 from Spooner High School; went on to study accounting at WITC in Rice Lake and currently am pursuing certificates in Viticulture and Enology.

Previous Work Experience:

My first full time job was at the Indianhead Medical Center in Shell Lake, where I worked for 14 years, holding various clerical/supervisory positions and ending as assistant administrator. I then pursued work at a CPA firm in Spooner – Anderson, Hager & Moe – and worked there as a staff accountant and data processing manager for six years. Then in 1996, I started working for WK Appliance & Propane Company in Spooner, doing the bookwork and administrative functions for the company and remained there for 16+ years until I was elected as County Clerk for Washburn County.

I am also currently serving my third elected term as the Clerk/Treasurer for the Town of Gull Lake and hope to continue serving as such in the future.
Other & Personal:

My husband, Robbie, and I have been married for over 12 years; together with both families we have five children, (four of whom are married), and eight grandkids, ranging in ages from 2 to 18. We both belong to the Spooner Racing Pigeon Club and raise several breeds of pigeons as well as Flemish Giant rabbits. Another major interest is our vineyard – we planted a one acre site in 2011 with three varieties of cold-hardy grapes that have been developed by the University of Minnesota. If all goes well we plan on having our own winery in about five years; if not, then we’ll just have fun selling the grapes and continuing to make our own wine.

Other hobbies include reading, bowling, painting, hiking, camping, working in the vineyard and learning new things.
