With great honor the County Clerk’s office provides support and assistance to municipal clerks and serves the residents of Rusk County.

The Rusk County Clerk’s office employs a Chief Deputy/Confidential Secretary (Jill Buchholz) and a Deputy Clerk (Tracey Larson).

The office duties include: County Record Management, Marriage Licenses, Cutting Permits, County Dog Licensing and Licensing Reporting, County Board Agenda and Minutes, Personnel Committee Agenda and Minutes, Property Agenda and Minutes, Phone Directory Upkeep, Apportionments of County Tax for Municipalities, Annual County Directory, Notary Service, and General Information Center for the Public and any other duties in accordance with Wisconsin State Statutes.

The Rusk County Courthouse is closed on: New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the Day After, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve. If the Holiday falls on a Saturday, the courthouse is closed on Friday. If the holiday falls on a Sunday, the courthouse is closed on Monday.

Camping is also available at our beautiful County campgrounds Josie Creek, Perch Lake, Audie Lake and Murphy. Whether you’re fishing on one of Rusk County’s 250 beautiful lakes and flowages or walk the spectacular scenery or abundant wildlife on the expansive public lands, looking to cast a line, camp or ride down an ATV/UTV or Snowmobile trail.
