County Information:

Marathon County official established in 1859 and Wausau is the County Sea.  Marathon County is the largest of Wisconsin’s 72 counties.  One of the leading counties in dairy producing.  Winter Sports enthusiast can enjoy Granite Peak Ski Resort at Rib Mountain with 74 runs; Nine-mile County Forest Recreation with 18 miles of cross-country ski trail, including three miles of lighted trail and warming house; ice hockey, ice fishing, ice skating, curling, snowshoeing and snowmobiling. 

 
The Rietbrock Geographical Marker locates the exact center of the northern half of the Western Hemisphere. It is here that the 90th Meridian of Longitude bisects the 45th Parallel of Latitude, meaning it is exactly halfway between the North Pole and the Equator, and is a quarter of the way around the earth from Greenwich, England.
